Recently Luis and I embarked upon a vacation to Sri Lanka. We were looking for a Tailor made tour that suited our requirements. As a Gay couple, we wanted a tour guide who was gay friendly. We had been informed that it is still illegal to be Gay in this Country, so wanted to visit the country with guides who were able to offer us a safe enviroment yet visit the real Sri Lanka, not just the tourist areas.

We work in the Real Estate and Tourism business in Southern Spain, we are all too aware of the needs of people who are on vacation. Prior to our vacation a friend who had been living in Sri Lanka during the time of Tsunami informed us that if we wanted to see the Real Sri Lanka, the best way is to hire a guide and driver.

Shantha and Sugeewa became our guide and driver. The service, information, guidance and tour far exceeded all expectations we had for our vacation. We had requested to view many Buddhist Temples. Thankfully they are both Buddhists and were able to take us to many other secret places off the beaten track to experience the real essence of Sri Lanka. Additionally they are very much in tune with their Spirituality which complemented our needs as we are also Reiki Teachers with a thirst for exploring spirituality.
